Jeffery Beam
Jeffery Beam's new collection, Gospel Earth, has just been released by Skysill Press. His spoken word CD with multimedia, What We Have Lost: New and Selected Poems 1977-2001, was a 2003 Audio Publishers Award finalist. Beam is poetry editor of the print and online literary journal Oyster Boy Review and a botanical librarian in the Biology-Chemistry Library at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Kim Holzer
A former National Poetry Slam champion and Pushcart Prize nominee, Kim Holzer-Lane has traveled the world on poetry's dime. Her plays and poems have been published and performed throughout Europe and the United States. As a member of Poetry Alive, Kim served as a poetry instructor and advocate in American schools. A successful poet, playwright, and long-time blogger, she teaches English at Carrboro High School.
Dasan Ahanu
Dasan Ahanu is a public speaker, organizer, workshop facilitator, poet, spoken word performer, songwriter, writer, emcee, and loyal Hip Hop head born and raised in Raleigh. He is one of the founders of Black Poetry Theatre (BPT) and has been a cast member in four productions. Also an active participant in poetry slam, Dasan has competed regionally and nationally for five years as a founding member of Durham’s own Bull City Slam Team. A lyricist with a thirst for being on stage, Dasan is truly an artist with presence.
