also agree that sometimes you have to listen to what people think, sometimes I learn something from someone else, sometimes someone might learn something from me - albeit rarely. And of course, as monsieur Dale said, we have numerous opportunities to turn towards the writings and learn from them, re-inforce the principles in our fragile forgetful human brains.
I actually learn alot from what people say, it doesn't matter that I don't always agree with them, I learn that to better share the message of Baha'u'llah with the world I need to learn how everyone thinks, and we all think so differently. So I'm practicing the science of sociability, I'm also researching my target audience (mankind), so that I can better share this gift of God.
I used to be more reactionary and easily rattled on Baha'i Forums, I've been around them for over a decade, so I like to think I'm a better person now... I like to think that anyway :-)

I'd be curious if anyone who knows the story and can share it in a few paragraphs would tell the story of Private Dowding. I have too many books on my plate as it is to read right now. But ....I would be curious to learn his story.

Some people learn from what they read, so the approach you may use could be by setting an example that can be easily followed, so they can learn the lesson and be able to continue it's importance to others that are hungry for that knowledge as well.
