Skin color and hair color do not, of course, make any difference in terms of spirit, human rights, and the like. But they do lend beauty and diversity to humanity. Moreover, because the "watchword" of the Baha'i Faith is unity in diversity, it seems to me that the elimination or "merging" of racial differences could not be a prerequisite for unity.

But consider, if there were some advantage in such a merging, then we wouldn't be able to say that skin color made no difference. If it made no difference, then the reduction of skin colors to one could not possibly confer any advantage on humanity.

Whatever the case will be, however, it has no importance for us today, because it clearly will not happen within our lifetimes. We are nevertheless under the obligation to view humanity as a single race even though differences in skin color and the like persist. So when the Writings speak of "one race," can we realistically say it means the reduction of physical differences to the point where everyone is a carbon copy of everyone else?
To me, one race means that we are all one people--the human race. Nothing more, nothing less. But that's just my view, of course.
What brought me to the Baha’i Faith was my hunger for God, in the sense I felt abandoned for four years from age 12 to 16 after the death of my father and also, the unity of religions as taught by Baha’u'llah. What keeps me Baha’i is the love in the Baha’i family and I see more and more every single day the reality that there is one race-the human race.
Racism is one of the most baneful and persistent evils, is a major barrier to peace. Racism is like a cancer that is rotting inside the colon of the world, whose effects smell like stadium-frank & chipped beef chili flatulence. The oneness of humanity is the pivot round which revolve all the teachings of the Bahá’í Faith.
